In 2008, she joined The Newark School of the Arts, where she discovered her passion for digital photography under the guidance of mentor Andrew Cohen. Estrela's photography, capturing nature and travel, serves as a medium for self-healing, stillness, freedom, and inner self-discovery. In 2018, Estrela's artistic journey took a new turn with a collage workshop led by artist Mansa Mussa. Collage and mixed media became integral to her work. Her collages aim to reconnect women with nature, placing them in landscapes surrounded by found objects. Through this, she re-contextualizes their power, highlighting the harmony between the beauty of nature and the strength of women. Currently, Estrela's artistic focus revolves around her African roots. She aspires for her work to inspire others to explore their family histories, fostering a deeper connection with self, culture, and tradition. Estrela's art is a celebration of heritage and an invitation to reflect on one's own roots. - ![MEstrela4-ScarsRunDeep](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/hs-fs/hubfs/MEstrela4-ScarsRunDeep.jpeg?width=1266&height=1367&name=MEstrela4-ScarsRunDeep.jpeg) *Scars Run Deep Collage/Mixed-media 20x23 $645* - ![Bumi_Maria_Esterella](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Bumi_Maria_Esterella.jpg?width=1104&height=1400&name=Bumi_Maria_Esterella.jpg) *Bumi- Mixed Media 10 x 17 $375* [Purchase Inquiry](mailto:eventscafemelo@gmail.com) --- **Legal** [Disclaimer](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oK7BnmGasm5pOjfJMse3YNpnN_HFcw68IxhDXttVkxs/edit?usp=drive_link) [Terms and Conditions](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IMtqTJgLegYBpUSSF0Vi6LMtrTXngFskJ0ZICYOfSqk/edit?usp=drive_link) [Privacy Policy](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Dw3CyWtyEB7ww3ly1SFpMzs0VfGNVgiFUaGYvYQISU0/edit?usp=drive_link) **Company** [Press](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/press-page?hsLang=en) FAQ [Contact Us ](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/event-rental?hsLang=en) Mighty Networks 345 Lenox Ave. New York, NY 10027                                                                                      Copyright © 2023, Cafe Melo [![1850A4F8-850E-414A-A697-E909D1F128A7-2](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/hs-fs/hubfs/1850A4F8-850E-414A-A697-E909D1F128A7-2.png?width=1024&height=1024&name=1850A4F8-850E-414A-A697-E909D1F128A7-2.png "1850A4F8-850E-414A-A697-E909D1F128A7-2")](https://www.cafemelo-harlem.com/?hsLang=en)
